Paragon Kim's Main Taekwondo School
“PARAGON” is defined as a model of excellence or perfection and represents an ideal instance or a peerless example of a particular quality. PARAGON signifies someone or something that is the very best, having no equal.
Originally Established as Argyle Taekwondo school in 1992 and changed to Paragon and later to Paragon Kim’s Main, we are a non-profit World Taekwondo (WT) school operating under the umbrella of Grand Master Sung Ju Kim’s Taekwondo College (est 1973), the first taekwondo to be opened in Saskatchewan. Paragon Kim’s Main is proud and honoured to be the ONLY school recognized and sanctioned by Grand Master Kim in Regina.
Taekwondo is a Korean martial art known for using the art of foot and fist technique. Our focus is on discipline, respect and character development through dynamic warm-ups, practice of fundamental techniques (stances, blocks, punches, kicks), forms (Poomsae), and sparring (Kyorugi). Students advance through ranks (Gup) that are represented by belt color. Only after the student has demonstrated all the requirement for their next gup will they be considered for promotion testing. It is our strong conviction that gup levels are earned and that belt colors represent what the student must work for and earn. Our instructors have the knowledge, experience and dedication to guide students along their taekwondo journey from beginner to high performance athlete.
At Paragon Kim’s Main school students and instructors are part of a community where we all strive to live by the 5 Tenets of Taekwondo: Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self Control and Indomitable Spirit both in class and throughout our daily lives.

Grandmaster Sung Ju Kim was inducted into the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame as a Builder in 1998.

Grand Master Kim has served on the board of directors of the World Taekwondo Federation Canada, now known as Taekwondo Canada and in 1985 was on the organizing committee for the World Games in Seoul, Korea.
Grand Master Sung Ju Kim has been the Tournament Director of the Western Canadian World Taekwondo Federation Championships which had been held annually and was the tournament director for the first championship in 1980 in Regina.
